NDC Members Are Finance Mishandlers – Alliance For FootSoldiers Advocacy

Group identified as Alliance For FootSoldiers Advocacy ( AFFA) of the ruling New Patriotic Party ( NPP) Government has accused members of major opposition party, the National Democratic Congress ( NDC) of having a bad track record in handling finances.

The group’s comment follows the appointment of award winning radio personality and failed NDC Parliamentary candidate in the 2016 general elections, Abeiku Santana as Ambassador for Ghana’s COVID- 19 National Trust Fund.

A letter dated 23rd March, 2021 had earlier circulated and gained attention on social media platforms, announcing the Ambassadorial appointment of the media personality.

AFFA reacting to the news and appointment in a press statement signed by it’s Executive Secretary, Sir Obama Pokuase on yesterday 27th, March said that Abeiku Santana is not an exception when it comes to one having a bad track record in handling finances as he is Associated with the NDC.

They described as an obnoxious team unprecedented in the country’s multiparty democracy since 1992, parallel COVID- 19 technical Response Team that was formed by the NDC during the outbreak of the pandemic.

According to the group, the Team which had the full support and blessing of the newly appointed Ambassador, was specialized in destructive criticisms instead of partnering with government to have solved a problem.

They called on the Board of Trustees of the National Trust Fund to withdraw the Ambassadorial appointment of the media personality as soon as possible as it will have itself to blame in the coming days.

” AFFA is by this release calling on the Board of Trustees of Ghana’s COVID-19 National Trust Fund to withdraw the Ambassadorial appointment of Abeiku Santana as soon as possible or have itself to blame in the coming days” Part of AFFA’s statement read.

Meanwhile, President of popular Policy Tink Tank, IMANI AFRICA, Franklin Cudjoe has reacted to AFFA’s calls for the Ambassadorial appointment of the media personality to be revoked and terminated, questioning them whether he, Abeiku will be paid as an Ambassador or will simply be using his Influence to get people contribute to the Trust.
