Rema has announced a huge debut headline concert at O2 Arena later this year.
The platinum-selling artist will take the stage for a one-night immersive music showcase on November 14, 2023, becoming the fourth Nigerian artist after Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy to ever headline a solo concert at the famed and iconic London venue. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 5. Fans can register now for early presale access, which goes live tomorrow, Wednesday, May 3, and exclusive information.
The announcement of the concert comes after Rema’s debut album, “Rave and Roses,” was made available in its deluxe edition. Dubbed “Rave and Roses Ultra”, the 22-track update, arrives with six additional tracks, notably the Selena Gomez-assisted remix of focus track ‘Calm Down’. The album was first released on Mavin Global/Jonzing World in March 2022. Since then, the album has propelled Rema to popularity on a global scale, earning him chart spots and invitations to important stages.
The past few years for Rema have been meteoric. From his sold-out tour to his performance at the NBA All-Star game alongside Burna Boy and Tems to Jimmy Fallon last month, Rema has won the hearts of listeners around the globe. The 22-year-old has climbed every chart possible with his hit single ‘Calm Down’, peaking at No.4 in The OCC, No.6 in the Billboard Hot 100, and it has gone Gold once, Diamond six times and Platinum nine times across the globe.
Since he began, he came in and completely switched up the game and rapidly became one of the biggest and most internationally known names in the new wave of Afrobeats stars. Coining a new sub-genre dubbed AfroRave, Rema’s sound has been received with open arms worldwide, resulting in an upcoming tour of North America, India, Jerusalem, and now his biggest show yet at The O2, London. Rema remains laser-focused on bringing Afrobeats worldwide
Meanwhile, Rema is set to take the project on the road to North America from 15 July. The tour comprises 17 stops between Washington DC and Los Angeles.
