Nigeria’s Tems has been nominated for BET’s “Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act” category

BET International on Monday unveiled the candidates for the ‘BET Awards 2021 Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act,’ with Nigerian Tems and South African Elaine securing two slots on the list. On the BET Awards 2021 nominations list, these African vocal powerhouses join an assortment of outstanding black women who are dominating the music business. On Monday, June 28, the BET Awards 2021 will be broadcast live.

“The ‘Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act’ The category was developed to recognize international breakthrough talent and rising talents in music,” stated Monde Twala, SVP of BET International. “We’re thrilled to honour this year’s exceptional nominees on the global ‘BET Awards’ platform.”

The BET Awards, now in its twenty-first year, remain the greatest platform for showcasing the most beautiful parts of the worldwide black experience — honoring black music’s present and future, elevating the culture, and serving as a catalyst for social change. The nominees for the ‘BET Awards 2021 Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act’ category are:
