Okudzeto Ablakwa Resigns From Parliament’s Appointments Committee

Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa on yesterday 30th March 2021 wrote a letter to the Speaker of the 8th Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, conveying to him his decision to discontinue his membership of the Appointments committee.

This decision according to the member of Parliament follows days of careful reflections and thoughtful considerations.

Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa in his letter written to the Speaker stated that reasons for his difficult decision are both personal and on principle.

He respectively asked Hon. Bagbin to take note that his resignation is with an immidiate effect as he will not be available for the vetting of nominees for Deputy Ministerial positions.

” May I extend to you, Leadership of the House, Committee of Selection and Leadership of the great National Democratic Congress, my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve as a member of the Appointments Committee in the 6th, 7th and 8th Parliaments of the Republic of Ghana.

Kindly accept Right Honorable, the assurances of my highest esteem” Part of the MP’s letter read.
