President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on today 30th, swore into office, Minister for Finance, Kenneth Nana Yaw Kuntunkununku Ofori Atta.
The Finance Minister was swore into office at a ceremony at the country’s Presidency, Jubilee House.
Ken Ofori Atta appeared before the 8th Parliament’s Appointments Committee as Finance Minister Designate on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th of March 2021 respectively, to be vetted as the country’s Finance Minister as he wasn’t in the country during the Ministerial nominees vetting processes.
Ken Ofori Atta was fled to the States when his colleague Ministers appeared before the Committee to be vetted for treatment following a post Covid-19 complications he developed after recovering from the novel virus.
Mr Ofori Atta before the Appointments committee on Thursday 25th among other things claimed that he doesn’t take salary nor per diem.
President Akufo-Addo swearing in the Finance Minister among other things congratulated him and indicated to him that the Ghanaian people are expecting him to put the economy on a sound footing once again, and help lead it out of the ravages of the Covid-19 pandemic.
” On this Tuesday 30th March 2021, I swore into office, the Minister for Finance Kenneth Nana Yaw Kuntunkununku Ofori Atta, at a ceremony at Jubilee House, the seat of the nation’s presidency.
I congratulated him on his appointment, and indicated to him that the Ghanaian people are expecting him to put the economy on a sound footing once again, and help lead it out of the ravages of the COVID-19 pandemic” President Akufo-Addo wrote in a statement after swearing Mr Ofori Atta into office.
