Rayvanny has parted ways with the Diamond Platnumz-owned Wasafi Classic Baby Wasafi (WCB Wasafi) record label to “focus on his own label, Next Level Music (NLM),” the Tanzanian bongo flava star confirmed the news via a video posted on social media on Tuesday.
Back in 2020, Diamond Platnumz first announced that Rayvanny would be launching his own label. The news sparked rumors that Rayvanny would be leaving WCB Wasafi. Rayvanny talks about his time at WCB and his wonderful working relationship with Diamond Platnumz in the video announcing his departure. He says “I admire and respect Diamond. I will forever be grateful for his help.”
Rayvanny is best known by his song “Kwetu”, which introduced him as a solo artists in 2016. A year later, he was mentioned by MTV Base among “Acts To Look Out For” and later won a BET Award in 2017 for International Viewers’ Choice. He was also nominated at the prestigious Premios Juventud, a Hispanic entertainment awards show, in June after featuring on Colombian singer Maluma’s hit ‘Mama Tetema’.
In March of 2021, he launched Next Level Music (NLM) and signed promising singer Macvoice as his first artiste, after chalking incredibly successful career with WSB.
