Sauti Sol, a multi-award-winning Kenyan pop quartet, Sauti Sol have announced their intention to pursue solo projects. The band, who are now on a residency tour in the UK for the first time in two years due to COVID-19, made the announcement on social media in an open letter to fans signed by all four members.
Dubbed “Alone-Together”, the journey will see the four active performer of the group: Savara, Chimano, Bien and Polycarp, self-actualise by showcasing their personal strengths and characters as the artists who came together to form Sauti Sol.
According to the group, the journey is a child of the pandemic – the result of deep reflections as individuals and as a group, leading them to craft the ultimate expansion of their musical and artistic legacies. Thus, each member shall embark on their “alone phase” with a single release by December 2021. This shall be closely followed by releases of full projects whose dates shall be announced in due time.
“Alone-Together is the mantra formed to define this unique development,” the band members said in the open letter. “It ties in the natural progression that each band member is experiencing, while still maintaining a cohesive unit. The journey is a 4-part open letter to their fans and the world to enlighten them on who Sauti Sol (Savara, Chimano, Bien and Polycarp) really are; 4 phenomenal parts that make 1 Iconic whole.”
Meanwhile, the African King of Bald Men, Bien-Aime, on Friday, released his first solo single, aptly titled the “Bald Men Anthem”, a track which marks the inception of their individual journey as entertainers.
“Bald Men Love Better” by Bien- Aime, “Father Studies” by Fancy Fingers, “Heavy Is The Crown” by Chimano and “Savage Level” by Savara, will all be released on Exodus Entertainment |Sol Gen and distributed by Ingrooves. Masterfully crafted musical and visual works that are sincere representations of them as world-class artists. With each release, the fans, old and new, young and old, will get to experience each artist’s unique flair, and perhaps get greater insight as to why they are 4 phenomenal parts that make 1 Iconic whole.
15 years together is nothing short of incredible. This is the beginning of the 2nd chapter of the life of this iconic group of men, who serve and will continue to serve their craft and their brotherhood. Sauti Sol will release their next group album in May 2022
