Shatta Wale Beats Sean Paul, Major Lazer And Others At IRAWMA 19

Multiple awards winning Reggae/Dancehall artiste Charles Nii -Armah Mensah, professionally known as Shatta Wale has elevated his art to the world by emerging victorious out of two categories at the just ended 37th International Reggae and World Music Awards(IRAWMA).

The awards event which was held at Pegasus Hotel, 82 Knutsford Blvd, Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies on Saturday 11th May 2019 saw the the African Reggae/Dancehall King, Shatta Wale winning the category of Best Music Video for his much anticipated ‘Gringo’ music video and the category of Afro Beats artist of the year.

The International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA), established in 1982 acknowledges and honours the accomplishments and contributions of reggae and world music artists, including songwriters, performers, promoters and musicians.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Shatta Movement Empire, ease past competition from Jamaican Reggae/Dancehall heavyweight, Sean Paul, Major Lazer, Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall icons Stonebwoy and Samini, Damian Marley, Wiz Khalifa among others to add the IRAWMA awards scheme’s plaque to his cabinet.

In accepting this prestigious award, the “Kpu Kpa” hitmaker took to his Facebook handle to show gratitude to God and his fan army, Shatta Movement for enormously displaying their inflicnhing solidarity to the movement and chalking another international recognition.

Shatta Wale extended a word of appreciation to the board and organizers of 37th International Reggae and World Music Awards(IRAWMA) and his management incharge of running the affairs of the Shatta Movement brand and producers in the United States of America and Jamaica.

However, African Dancehall King, Charles Nii-Armah Mensah has also garnered some slots at the forthcoming 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, slated for the 18th May, 2018 and will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
