Stephanie Benson Opens About Details Of Her Breast Cancer; Leads Campaign To Raise Funds.

Stephanie Benson, a popular jazz singer and songwriter, has been selected to champion a breast cancer campaign. According to her, she suffered from breast cancer about two years ago and treated it using mastectomy. She revealed that funds would be raised in support of women with such a condition.

Celebrated Ghanaian jazz singer and songwriter, Stephanie Benson, has been outdoored as a breast cancer awareness ambassador.

YEN.com.gh has learned that she is set to lead a campaign as part of the corporate social responsibility of the 3foundation, a non-governmental organization. Information available shows that Benson, whose real name is Princess Akua Ohenewaa Asieanem, is hoping to support other women who have gone through such a condition.

She suffered from breast cancer two years ago and is currently hoping to raise funds through the Pink Bubble Charity Car wash at the Accra Mall. The funds generated would then be used to give women reconstructive surgeries to put them back to shape.

Per a report by 3news.com, she added that she had to undergo a mastectomy and is therefore convinced she can serve as a counselor to affected women. In other news, two Black athletes who came in 5th in a competition have opened up about an ongoing competition and the way forward.

The athletes, Lisa Marie Kwayie and Yasmin Kwadwo, participated in the women’s 4x100m relays for Germany. According to them, they did their best and were proud to run against Ghana even though it is their country of birth. They went on to say that it is always nice to see Ghanaian athletes and they feel proud and happy in such situations. In the video, however, stated that they are yet to decide whether they would represent Ghana in the near future. They explained that they are comfortable with the way things are now and the idea of switching to the country of their birth has never crossed their mind.
