The multiple award-winning Ghanaian musician, Stonebwoy has successfully installed four boreholes to provide potable water for the residents in the Shama District of the Western Region.
This initiative was made possible under his Livingstone Foundation which aims at giving alms to communities in need and improving the lives of affected communities.
The four communities that benefited from this project include, Beposo Nkran, Daboase, Antiamoah, and Borkor Awuku Kope. These communities were noted for facing water challenges due to illegal mining activities which polluted their only source of water, The River Pra.
According to the chief of Antiamoah, Stonebwoy has not only provided them with water but has given them life. As a token of appreciation, leaders in Antiamoah gifted Stonebwoy a goat to show their appreciation for responding to their requests.
At the ground, Durbar, Stonebwoy , and his wife, Dr. Louisa were crowned with regalia including fugu( a traditional headdress), beads, and sandals.
The dancehall artiste expressed his gratitude to the chiefs and the people for welcoming them with soo much love and also for the honor bestowed on them.
“I am humbled by this honor and I promise to use my platform to help the less privileged in society. I will continue to work with my foundation to provide boreholes and other amenities to communities in need,” he said.
He pledged to continue to use his position and platform to assist the less privileged.
