TECNO presented a “certificate of appreciation” to STONEBWOY at the “Camon 20” launch ceremony held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel, Accra, on Monday (May 8).
The certificate is in recognition of his tireless contribution, strong willpower, and passion to TECNO through the years, which have propelled the global smartphone brand to higher heights of excellence.
“Your dedication towards delivering high quality output is truly commendable,” Ricky Wan, Managing Director, Tecno Mobile, said at the ceremony. “We convey our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for your work which has led to a significant increase in positive brand results and established TECNO as a trailblazer in the smartphone industry in Ghana. You are an invaluable asset to TECNO.”
The acknowledgement comes three years after the multi-award-winning Ghanaian international musician was first signed by the smartphone manufacturing brand in 2020 to be one of the company’s faces in the West African region. The deal demontrastes the firm’s dedication to the explosively growing African market. The deal was renewed two years later, in 2022.
The news also follows on the heels of his wins at the just ended 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), where he picked up laurels for “Best Afropop Song” with his 2022 Therapy and “Best Raggae & Dancehall Artiste” for the 7th time, making him the most awarded in the category.
Months after he joined TECNO, the company was crowned “Phone Brand of the Decade” at the Ghana Information Technology and Telecom (GITTA) 2020 Awards. A year later, it was awarded the Best Smartphone Brand of 2021 by the Ghana Information Technology and Telecom Award (GITTA). The newly unveiled CAMON 20 has already picked up the prestigious MUSE Design Awards 2023 as a gold winner in the Product Design of Telecommunications category.
