Multiple award-winning dancehall and reggae artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla , professionally known as Stonebwoy has trounced some notable nominated mainstream artistes world wide to win the Favourite African Star at the at the 2019 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Favourite African Star category.
This 32nd annual kid’s awards ceremony produced by Nickelodeon and was slated for Sunday, 24 March 2019 and was staged at the Galen Center in Los Angeles(the sixth ceremony at that venue) saw the Ghanaian international performing acts beat of competition from, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, I.K Osakiodowa and Sauti Sol.
DJ Khaled hosted the annual kids-voted ceremony which kicked of at 8 p.m. ET and handed out honours in the categories of music, movies, TV and more. The show featured a live medley by Migos joined by DJ Mustard.
The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (also known as the KCAs or Kids’ Choice) is an annual American children’s awards ceremony show that is produced by Nickelodeon. Usually held on a Saturday night in late March or early April, the show honors the year’s biggest television, movie, and music acts as voted by viewers worldwide of Nickelodeon networks. Winners receive a hollow orange blimp figurine, a logo outline for much of the network’s 1984–2009 era, which also functions as a kaleidoscope.
The show features numerous celebrity guests and musical acts. In recent years, slime stunts have been incorporated into the show. The KCAs also host live entertainment. It has also been known to overwhelmingly cover people with the network’s trademark green slime.
The series SpongeBob SquarePants has won the most KCA awards, with fifteen overall through the series’ run. Individually, Selena Gomez has won the most trophies with eleven, followed by Will Smith(10) and Amanda Bynes(7). Whoopi Goldberg is the only person to have won a Kids’ Choice Award, along with the mainstream “EGOT” combination of an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Rosie O’Donnell has hosted the show most times (8), followed by Jack Black (3), and John Cena (2).
Globally acclaimed musician Davido from Nigeria was the Africa nominee in the Favourite Global Music Star award featured amongst David Guetta and Taylor Swift.
