The Akwaaba Group has launched the eighteenth annual Ghana Party in the Park UK, slated for Trent Park, London on Saturday (July 16th).
Ghana Party in the park is an annual outdoor festival held in London for the Ghanaian Community in the diaspora. Hosted by Akwaaba Group since 2005. The festival attracts over 8000 people, making it the biggest Ghanaian event outside of Ghana. Attracting visitors from the UK, Europe, USA, Canada and Ghana.
This year’s edition of the event, according to Dennis Tawiah, CEO of the Akwaaba Group, has successfully captured the attention of Corporate Ghana bodies such as the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Blue Rose Limited, and Ghana Cocoa Marketing Company (UK) Ltd, among others.
Following this, on the 14th of July, the event will host an EXPO dubbed Ghana Party in the Park EXPO for the first time. According to the CEO, the goal is to establish a business network among stakeholders and customers.
The Akwaaba Group has signed an agreement with Charterhouse (organizers of the Ghana Music Awards) under which the winner of the Best New Artist category will be flown to the United Kingdom to perform under the auspices of the Ghana Party in the Park organizers. The winner in this case, Black Sherif, will perform at the main event.
Last year, the event saw performances from Sarkodie [who was also the Creative Director for the event], Mr Drew, KiDi, Yaw Tog, Amerado, S3FA, Kofi Jamar, Kweku Flick, Camidoh, Kwabena Kwabena, and D-Black, among others.
