Scheduled for Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, US, on July 2, the year’s ceremony will celebrate outstanding Nigerian & African musicians and professionals in more than 30 categories, including seven new categories: Best Afrobeat Pop Single (Nigeria), Best Afrobeat Pop Album (Nigeria), Best African Collaboration, Best International Collaboration, African Artist of the Year, International Artist of the Year, and Music Executive of the Year.

All musical compositions must have been released between October 2020 and December 2021 to be eligible. Entries can be submitted by artists or their agents here. Entries are due by April 8th.

Hip Hop World Magazine launched the annual Headies in 2006 to recognize outstanding performers and music professionals in Nigeria’s entertainment business. A conference and music festival, as well as the Mic Check talent show for undiscovered musicians between the ages of 18 and 25, will kick off the 2022 edition.
