Trace Tv To Extend Its Coverage To Ghana.

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA (www.goergebritton.com) – Directors and Board management of Afro-pop Malian music channel dedicated to airing Africa’s top music artists, Trace TV Africa, has officially announced their intentions of extending the TV channel’s coverage to suit the Ghanaian creative arts and entertainment ecosystem, effective from December 18, 2019.

This was announced during the Multichoice Media Showcase 2019 in Johannesburg on Thursday November 21, 2019. Speaking at the Media Showcase, head of content at Multichoice, Aletta Alberts revealed the dedicated block is part of efforts at bridging the gab between music lovers and satisfying the needs of the music consumer from the part of Africa. He revealed the name was not cast in stone and could be reviewed after inputs.

Earlier, Trace TV launched three African music channels on the 1st of September. The three Trace channels are Trace Africa, Trace Mziki, and Trace Naija. Viewers will be able to access the channels in Southern Africa, West Africa and East Africa. The channels will be carried out on the MultiChoice DStv platform. The content for each channel will be specifically curated for that channel’s region.

South Africans will be catered a combination of kwaito, afro-pop, house, rumba, ndombolo, and coupé-décalé. Viewers in East Africa will be etitled Trace Mziki. It will be a channel in both English and Swahili. Viewers will experience the tastes of Tanzanian and Ugandan genres such as bongo flava. While West African countries will be enjoying afro pop, hip life, and afro beats.

Trace TV is extending to include other regions in Africa and will showcase the vast and rich landscape of brilliant African music. This offers more African musicians an opportunity to put their quality sounds on a platform for all to share in. It also adds to the now ever growing infrastructure of the African music industry, by making visible those talented artists who would have otherwise been easily missed.

Trace Africa is an afro-pop malian music channel dedicated to airing Africa’s top music artists. Trace Africa, Africa’s number one music channel, is dedicated to playing and showcasing music of Africa’s top artists and genres including Afro-pop, Coupé Décalé, Kwaito House, Afro-trap, Makossa, N’dombolo through radio and live concert events.

Trace Africa the radio show first premiered on DStv, in 2016 as a replacement to Trace Sports Stars through the whole continent and as of 2017 is also now on StarSat.

Since then, Trace Africa has greatly expanded with 10 radio shows featuring music from all corners of Africa. With the implementation of these new radio shows the youthful, innovative music channel, with the ability to offer powerful audiences in target populations, has recently been rated number one in French speaking Africa.

Trace Africa has traditionally found much of its success through music broadcasting, however it places to expand its reach into the field of sports with its launch of Trace Sports Channel. This channel aims to connect sports and entertainment by showing the private lives of sports stars. With this new development, Trace hopes to expand its reach globally so as to free itself from reliance on developed countries.
