Fast rising act and daughter of legendary Nana Achaempong, Jacqueline Achaempong popularly known by her stage name as Gyakie sets to battle for Supremacy as her ” Forever” song has been nominated for Best AfroBeats and AfroPop song Award at the upcoming 22nd edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ( VGMA) 2021.
The announcement was made earlier today 3rd April 2021 by Board and Organizers of the Awards scheme.
Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ( VGMA), tagged as Ghana’s biggest Awards scheme, was established by Mascot in 2000 to celebrate Ghanaian music and artistic words across the African globe.
The Awards night held annually, features magnificent and amazing performances from the country’s biggest artistes and industry players.
Gyakie’s ” Forever” tune has been nominated alongside, ” Take Care of you” by Adina ft Stonebwoy, ” Inna Song” of Darkovibes ft King Promise, ” Momo” by Kelvin boy, ” Mariah’ by Camidoh, King Promise’s ” Sisa”, Lynx entertainment act, Kidi’s ” enjoyment”, ” Turn On the lights” of Kwesi Arthur, ” Wendy Shay’s ” Emergency” ft Bosom P Young, and ” Let Me know” by Mr Drew.
ABOUT GYAKIE’S ” FOREVER” SONG!
Gyakie released her major hit song ” forever” from her ” Seed” album, topping charts not only in Ghana but Nigeria and Kenya respectively.
A remix of the hit song with Nigerian act, Omah Lay was released month.
Gyakie’s remix with Omah Lay gained some negative reactions, with fans describing it as wack.
