After days and hours of conscientious and scrupulous moot at the 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Board Meetings, organizers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards scheme, Charterhouse Productions Ghana, has unveiled the much awaited nominees for this season’s edition of the prestigious annual Ghana music awards events.
The grand unveil of nominees event, slated for Friday, 15th March 2019, gave selected broadcast media network(radio and TV stations) and some few notable prints media and online via a number of Social Media handles, websites and blog portals, the opportunity to air the nominees for the this music milestone year.
The artistes selected for each category for this year’s edition of the awards were nominated based on their artistic prowess of releasing hit songs and staging sold out events single handedly under the year of review.
Rapping (or rhyming, spitting, emceeing, MCing) is a musical form of vocal delivery that incorporates “rhyme, rhythmic speech, and street vernacular”, which is performed or chanted in a variety of ways, usually over a backbeat or musical accompaniment. Medikal, Teephlow, Obinini, Sarkodie and Manifest will be contending each other in the Rapper Of The Year Category.
Per some statistical record, being in a group enable the players nature and flourish their talent. ”Site 15” Album crooners, R2bees, Global Evangelical Church’s Bethel Revival Choir, La Meme Gang, and Dope Nation had the Group Of The Year slot, as all groups have lived to expectation and standard.
In the Song Writer Of The Year Category, BET Awards Winner, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Teephlow, Fuse, Akwaboah, Trigmatic will have to prove to their fans why they deserve the win such category. Some lyrics are able to transform ones ability to embrace life, being it good or bad.
This season’s edition of the prestigious Ghana Music Awards has witnessed a new category arrayed to the existing categories. Unda Beats, Mzter Okyere, Enoch Owuraku and Emmanuel Bludo are great musicians who have been nominated for the Instrumentalist Of The Year category.
In the last twenty years of Ghanaian music climate, some notable artistes have ascertained and peaked high in Ghana. Their style of music have incarnate and elevated the Ghana music, leaving it on the international market. Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Joe Mettle and Shatta Wale will be battling each other to emerge winner of the artiste of the decade.
However, the launch of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and the nominees announcement party was staged at the La Beach Hotel and It was expected to be attended by a tall list of VIP guests comprising musicians, music industry players, actors, government representatives, media practitioners and a lot more.
The Event, to which admittance is strictly by invitation saw performances from some of Ghana’s most talented and most respected music acts with the evening’s highlight being the grand reveal of the new Vodafone Ghana Music Awards plaque designed to replace the current plaque for the next few years.
