Afropop/ Afrobeats act, Wendy Shay has claimed that she knew she was not going to win any award at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards [VGMA].
According to her, she didn’t bother her fans to have voted for such a reason.
Speaking in an interview with Sammy Flex on ‘Showbiz Agenda’ on Zylofon FM, she stressed out that they are always favourites in any category of the award scheme.
She believes some artistes are always awarded by the industry even if they don’t deserve.
According to the ‘Uber Driver’ hitmaker, she has to always work extra hard before winning an award as she is not loved by the industry.
”Some people are favourites. Not only in the category I was nominated but I think the whole scheme. I love my fans and I knew if I put it out there, they were going to vote, I will say not waste their precious money but why should they go and vote whiles I know I was not gonna gain. As an artiste in the industry, I have to work really really hard”
she said.
