Wizkid and BNXN’s ‘Mood’ Certified Gold in New Zealand

The smash song “Mood” by Afrobeats artists Wizkid and BNXN (previously Buju) has been officially certified gold in New Zealand, adding another feather to their crowns.

The music has sold more than 15,000 pieces nationwide, according to the certification, which was verified on Friday, October 3, 2025.

Mood, which was first included on the deluxe edition of Wizkid’s Grammy-nominated album Made in Lagos, immediately won over fans with its infectious rhythm and fluid delivery. The song’s continued appeal and Afrobeats’ expanding impact on the world music landscape are both highlighted by the New Zealand recognition.

This achievement solidifies Wizkid’s standing as one of Africa’s most renowned and significant musicians and represents his sixth certification in New Zealand. It is BNXN’s second certification in the nation, solidifying his position as one of the most intriguing voices of the new generation of Afrobeats.

The success of Mood further demonstrates the genre’s growing appeal, reaching listeners well outside of Africa and solidifying Wizkid and BNXN as key players in its global ascent.
