YEA Launches Major Initiative with Zaacoal to Provide Thousands of Jobs for Ghana’s Youth

The Youth Employment Agency’s (YEA) CEO, Malik Basintale, and Zaacoal Limited have inked a Memorandum of Understanding to generate employment for Ghanaians and support environmental sustainability.
The YEA partnership aims to create 2,000 permanent positions across various cadres; if all of the chances are taken advantage of, the number is anticipated to increase.
According to Basintale, the partnership would successfully turn more coconut waste into smokeless charcoal, addressing unemployment in the process.

By offering a sustainable substitute for conventional tree-cutting methods, their collaboration seeks to generate 2,000 long-term jobs. Additionally, it would protect Ghana’s ecology and stop deforestation.

During a press conference, Basintale made the news and emphasised the initiative’s two advantages.

He said “This partnership is not just about creating jobs; it’s about transforming waste into wealth and protecting our environment for future generations.”

He said the partnership would take use of Zaacoal’s unique method of turning coconut shells and husks—which are frequently thrown away as waste—into premium, smokeless charcoal briquettes.

Known for its dedication to sustainability, Zaacoal Limited has taken the lead in tackling Ghana’s environmental problems caused by pollution and deforestation. The company has lessened its trash disposal burden by using coconut waste.

In addition, the business provided a fuel source that was more effective and clean than conventional wood charcoal. The demand for wood charcoal, a primary cause of deforestation in the area, has dramatically dropped since the company’s founding.
