Afrochella Makes Mark As The Biggest Afro-Festival In Ghana

Tuesday, 28th December 2021 is a day to remember on the ‘December In Ghana’ calendar because of the biggest afro festival in Ghana.

Named Afrochella, with the 2021 theme being ‘Afrofuturism’ and ‘Made in Africa’, the festival is designed to elevate and highlight the thrilling and thriving millennial talent in Africa by introducing an interactive event that teaches, explains and explores various cultures through a pioneering approach.

It was with great joy that people who attended the festival, experienced art and creative activations from the continent, celebrated African music, and tasted premium and cultured cuisine. The one-day event (soon to be a two-day event) saw people from different continents converge at the El-Wak stadium to have a feel of what the organisers had installed for them.

Certainly, their expectations were met with accuracy, the reach, the detail, and the outcome of the event. Prominent artists; Kofi Jamar, Arya Starr, Amaarae, Nasty C, Ari Lennox, Gyakie, King Promise, DarkoVibes, Black Sherif and Kojo Antwi graced the stage and pulled their performances off one after the other.

Event headliners and superstars on the continent of Africa, Stonebwoy and Wizkid dazzled Afrochellans with their back to back hit songs. There were also notable artists from the U.K and USA, not forgetting the fire live DJ sets from well-renowned DJs like Uncle Waffles, etc.

It really was a star-studded music festival and we saw the theme come to life as the festival was set to encourage the further advancement and awareness of Africa’s homegrown talent in music, art, fashion, and food. The event was hosted by Lolade and
