Drake Set To Donate His ‘Rock In Rio’ Shirt Proceeds To Amazon Conservation.

Drake is officially a humanitarian. The Canadian rapper and his merchandise company TourLife promised to contribute all proceeds from his Rock in Rio T-shirt to the Amazon Conservation Team organization. The company “partners with indigenous and other local communities to protect tropical forests and strengthen traditional culture.”

TourLife shared the good news via Instagram, stating, “Dropping tomorrow at 12PM PST/ 3PM EST on Tourlife.com to support local Amazonian communities on the front lines in the fight against fires and deforestation in the Amazon with all proceeds of the Drake exclusive tee going towards Dr. Mark J. Plotkin’s foundation The Amazon Conservation Team.”

Drake is headlining the Rock in Rio Festival which began on September 27th and ends October 3rd. The organization took to Twitter to publicly thank the rapper.

“Our heartfelt thanks go out to @Drake and @TourLife for supporting Amazonian indigenous communities and the rainforest!”

According to Complex, “as of Aug. 26, Brazil has seen 72,843 fires this year alone, over half of which are in the Amazon region. These figures mark an increase of more than 80 percent when compared against stats from the same time frame in 2018.”

Hopefully, Drake’s efforts to assist the organization financially will spread awareness to the cause.
