Here’s Everything You Need To Know About ‘Black Mirror’ Season 6

Black Mirror Season 5

As great as it was to watch Miley Cyrus transform into Ashley O. in the newest season of Black Mirror, we’re all super thirsty for more episodes. Season five only had three, and that’s just simply not enough. Netflix better serve us a sixth season as quickly as humanly (or like…creepy AI machine-ly) possible. Here’s everything we know about it so far.

Has Netflix confirmed ‘Black Mirror’ season 6 yet?
Hate to be the bearer of bad news…but Netflix hasn’t said anything about the future of Black Mirror just yet. But, rest assured. They keep all of the juicy Black Mirror secrets sealed tight until the last minute, so it probably doesn’t mean we’re not getting one. It just means they’re staying low-key.

There might be something like ‘Bandersnatch’ in the works.
Bandersnatch, the interactive, infinitely long episode of Black Mirror was totally mind-blowing. It was also such a huge success that the show’s creator, Charlie Brooker, says they’d consider trying something like it again…even though it was a brutal process.

“While we were making it, we kept saying, ‘We’ll never do this again.'” Charlie told The Hollywood Reporter. “By the end, I was saying ‘Oh, I’ve got an idea.’ It’s definitely something I would do again, and I think there are lots of ways to tackle it.'”

Quick request: If they’re going to do another interactive project…can they give us a little longer to make decisions? I was sweating trying to choose a cereal, I can’t lie.

But there could also be a film-like project in the future.
Speaking of Bandersnatch, producer Annabel Jones says it’s changed the way they approach the series…and might influence upcoming projects.

“I think Bandersnatch has proven [Black Mirror] can exist as a single film,” says Annabel. “I like that idea, doing one. It’s interesting for us, and hopefully for viewers, to find other ways…other forms of storytelling in which to dramatize things, if they’re earned.”

Okay, so…I think we can safely assume that any new Black Mirror projects will be weird as hell? Sounds about right.

So…when can we expect to see new ‘Black Mirror’ content?
Whenever the eff Netflix feels like it, that’s when! LOL, I kid, I kid. But seriously, there really hasn’t been any pattern to Black Mirror releases in the past. Maybe fall? Maybe winter? Who knows! You’d probably have better luck trying to guess when your ex is going to hit you with their next spontaneous “miss u” text.
