Gospel musician O.J has revealed that his mother didn’t want him to be a musician but a teacher.
According to him, his father on the other hand was in support of his music career.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM’s ‘DaybreakHitz’, he stated that he wrote most of his songs to have proven his mother wrong.
”Most of the songs I wrote was to prove my mother wrong”
oj said.
He says at a point, he had to lock his mother in the studio for her to listen to his ‘Obi Nya Wa Y3’ song which afterwards, she came out teary begging him for forgiveness for not supporting his music career.
”At a point, we had to lock my mother in the studio just for her to listen to my song “Obi Nya Wayɛ”. She came out teary and begged me to forgive her for being against me being a musician”
he added.
