Warner Music has signed a worldwide deal with Pheelz. The move comes after the popular Nigerian record producer-turned-artiste’s latest single, “Finesse,” received worldwide recognition and broke into notable charts.
His BNXN-featured single “Finesse,” which has over 14 million Spotify streams, is a carefree anthem brimming with saucy one-liners and breezy melodies. What began as a “training session” with his new producer on Ableton Live—a beat-making program—became a life-changing moment for Pheelz, who witnessed the record explode after casually posting a clip from his studio on TikTok. This week, “Finesse” is No. 5 on Billboard’s Afrobeats Songs chart in the United States.
Speaking to Billboard, Pheelz said he is eyeing a pop superstar to take his single to the next level. “I know she’s a rapper, but I think Cardi B can do something amazing on “Finesse,” he tells Billboard. “I think Ye as well—definitely Ye. If I get Ye on “Finesse,” I’m going to lose my mind. Cardi, Ye — and the third one would be between Rihanna and Drake. “
He added that, “Having my music get that kind of attention and opening that kind of door for me is a blessing. I still have whiplash. To be honest, I haven’t been able to process everything. It’s just been back-to-back work and back-to-back shows and all that. I just feel very grateful and very blessed to be honest. “
