Kanye West has seemingly backed T.I. after the rapper controversially admitted he takes his daughter for an annual virginity check-up.
The musician, real name Clifford Harris, made the comments on the Ladies Like Us podcast, explaining how important it is to him that his daughter Deyjah Harris waits for the right time before having sex.
“Deyjah’s 18, just graduated high school now, and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself. And yes, not only have we had the conversation (about sex), we have yearly trips to the gynaecologist to check her hymen.”
He added: “I will say as of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact.”
While fans flocked to social media to slam the star over his intrusive parenting style, he seems to have found an unlikely supporter in fellow music star Kanye West, who made reference to the Whatever You Like hitmaker while speaking to people at the Union Rescue Mission homeless shelter on Los Angeles’ Skid Row.
“I ain’t telling nobody what to do,” the Christian star said in his sermon, explaining how some things are approved by God and others are plotted by the devil, reported TMZ. “I’m expressing what I’ve been through; cause you know people learn to take a soundbite and say, ‘This was not exactly Devil-approved by the Internet’ – we could be speaking on something that’s God approved.
“Y’all know what I’m talking about – they tried to play T.I., but he’s talking about something that’s God approved,” he added.
Despite having Kanye’s backing, T.I.’s comments didn’t go down well with Deyjah, who swiftly unfollowed her father on Instagram and Twitter, after she liked several tweets calling the Live Your Life star “possessive”, “controlling” and “disgusting”.
