Samini, Amandzeba, Bob Pinodo for “World Junkanoo Festival”

CELEBRATED Ghanaian musicians, Bob Pinodo, Samini and Amandzeba will be touring some selected countries to promote the annual World Junkanoo Festival set to take place for the first time in Ghana next year.

Sponsored by World Junkanoo Festival Foundation, a cultural and tourism organisation, the tour which is scheduled to take place from Sunday, November 21 to December 23 will see the three musicians tour countries such as Peru, Mexico and the United States to promote the core values of the festival.

They would also use the trip to throw more light on the maiden edition of World Junkanoo Festival in Ghana planned from March 1 to March 1,0 2022 themed, “Afro Historic Renaissance, Junkanoo the unifying force.”

In a chat with Graphic Showbiz about the tour, Highlife musicianBob Pinodo, who is the Head of World Junkanoo Festival in Ghana, said the festival which will coincide with the 65th independence anniversary of Ghana and is expected to be one of the biggest festivals to be held in Ghana.

“The festival is going to be a big one looking at the calibre of people who will be coming to Ghana for the event. Although it is the first time in Ghana, the event will be customised to meet the demands of the Ghanaian audience.
“Apart from myself, Amandzeba and Samini are very good at what they do and with the creative skills of the three of us on a tour, we believe we can create the awareness we need for the festival next year,” he stated.

The festival is the brai child of the World Junkanoo Festival Foundation, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture in partnership with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

Bob Pinodo said he will be performing some of his popular songs such as Disco Dance, Come Back Love, Peep Top See, Yebeye Nsohwe and Thank You My Lord on the tour.
