“Accra Doesn’t Guarantee The Success Of Your Music Career. – CEO of GB Interactive, George Britton.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GB Interactive & www.georgebritton.com, and astute entertainment critic, Mr. George Mensah Britton, popularly known as George Britton has stated that, contrary to some perceptions and stereotyped protocols within the Ghanaian creative and arts ecosystem, Kumasi based musicians can be successful without traveling to Accra to seek greener pastures.

According to the manager of multiple awards winning music group; Keche, Ashanti Regional based recording and performing arts are exposed to overwhelming avenue and resources; including the Kumasi traditional mass media communication, thus, Journalists, Radio & Tv Presenters, Disc Jockeys (DJs), Bloggers, News Writers and the Social Media Commentators that, when given the much deserved respect, will help elevate their craft.

Reports has it that, Kumasi performing arts have consistently inundated the internet and the traditional media at large, claiming their talent have been neglected in the wilderness to gradually diminish in size, amount, or strength. According to them, the Kumasi media have generated no interest in elevating their craft within that specific geograhical location, this reveal is the reason they travel to Accra to ply their craft.

Meanwhile, speaking in an interview with www.georgebritton.com’s Gerrard Israel on the subject matter, George Britton stated that, contrary those reports, the Kumasi media is very supportive. He noted that, the indigenous Kumasi based musicians, both the mainstream and budding (Up and Coming) performers don’t have a positive feeling or action shown towards the communication outlets situated in the Ashanti Region, in perspective, the artistes consider the Kumasi based media less important, a development he revealed has created an aparthy within the entertainment sector.

He stated that, the musicians disregard the presence and role the traditional media play in nurturing budding musicians, because the performers feel they are within a circle where the Kumasi media are less powerful and vunerable as far as their talent is concerned. George Britton tasked the creative and arts players to be grateful for the support given to them by the entertainment industry couriers (gatekeepers) as he believes the mainstream media employ a lot protocols to project their talent.

However, George Mensah Britton highlighted that, respecting the media, working hard, staying focus, connecting with the fans and a strong marketing strategy are much needed mechanisms that will breathe new life into the music career of the & performing artiste. Urging them to be cautious of establishing a foundation for long-term music industry success.
