Eleven-year-old disc jockey, DJ Switch claimed a slice of history on Saturday night when she was crowned the Best DJ of the Year at the 2019 Ghana DJ Awards. Known in her private life as Erica Armah Bra-Bulu Tandoh picked the coveted award of experienced colleagues including DJ Mic-Smith, DJ Vyrusky, DJ Sly, DJ Aroma and DJ Black.
DJ Switch became the youngest individual to win the Best DJ of the Year award a year on after winning the Discovery of the Year award in 2018 edition. She also won the Best Female DJ Award. Aged just 9, DJ Switch competed and won Ghana’s most talented kids 2017 competition on Tv3 Network. Since winning the competition, there has been no stopping this young powerhouse after appearances on BBC and CNN.
The Ghana DJ Awards was created to celebrate and appreciate the talents of Disc Jockeys (DJs) who promote Ghana music. The Awards is an exciting annual program designed to foster the development of the Ghana music industry by rewarding and celebrating Radio, Mobile and Club Disc Jockeys who have excelled in their fields of endeavor.
