“DJs Are Guardian Angels, Don’t Disrespect Them. – Merqury Quaye To Musicians.

GREATER ACCRA, GHANA (www.georgebritton.com) – Astute Ghanaian media personality & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Merqury Republic; organizers of the annual Ghana DJ Awards, Merqury Quaye has urged recording and performing artistes to duly give respect to professionally trained persons who introduce or play existing recorded music for a live audience, especially on radio, tv or at a club; Disk Jockeys (DJs).

According to the founder of Ghana DJ Awards (a ceremony curated to celebrate and appreciate the talents of Disc Jockeys (DJs), as well as to foster the development of the Ghana music industry), Disc Jockeys, including Radio, Mobile and Club DJs are guardian angels who enormously and practically play a pivotal role to elevate musicians’ craft.

In Facebook post sighted by www.goergebritton.com, the “Cruise Control” radio show host on Accra based Hitz 103.9 FM bemoaned, in perspective, expressed discontent or displeasure in musicians, precisely the Ghanaian performers who only generate humongous interest in their music streams, event bookings and organizations, neglecting the toils the DJs employ to make their respective fans love their craft.

The Joy Tv presenter, who doubles as a musician, revealed that, Ghanaian artistes need to understand they can’t look down on DJs, disrespect DJs, refuse to support DJs who repeatedly play back their songs to their audiences to fall in love with and expect the same DJs to passionately hype them, support them, and ultimately propel them to literally reach the diaspora.

Merqury Quaye also stated that, musicians should not be in exciting moods when the Disk Jockeys are pushng with their music career and making themselves unavailable when their presence is need, urging them to defy all odds as far as supporting the DJ is concerned. He explained that, in unity, they can conquer the world.
