AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS – Ghana Music and Arts Awards Europe (GMMAE) is the first of its kind ever to happen in Europe. Notable Ghanaian recording and performing artistes, tons of media personalities coupled with prolific producers were adjudged winners of their respective categories at the maiden edition of the awards ceremony that was staged over the weekend (16th November, 2019).
Organized by, Young Mission Entertainment (founded in Paris, France in August 2015 With its head office located at 13 Place Saint Just 95100 Argenteuil, Franceby Mr. Frimpong Ebenezer Amoako), the event awarded artistes including, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Kuami Eugene, Diana Hamilton, Medikal Wendy Shay, for their practical and enormous contributions towards the Ghanaian creative and arts sector.
As usual, christened Livingstone Etse Satekla, Stonebwoy won the Reggae & Dancehall Artiste of the year, beating off competition from, Shatta Wale, Samini, Jupitar. Daina Hamilton won the Gospel Artiste of the Year, after the category witness tough competition from Joe Mettle. Charles Nii Armah Mensah – Shatta Wale’s much talked about video, Gringo, won the Video of the Year. Burna Boy keeps proving his dominance on the African continent, after he won the African Artiste of the Year.
Medikal, Wendy Shay, Dope Nation, Kuami Eugene, Eddi Khae, King Promise, Akwaboah, won the Best Rapper of the Year (How Much RMX), Best New Artiste of the Year, Best Group of the Year, Artiste of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year (Do The Dance), Afro Pop/Afro Beat Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year (Matters of the Heart) respectively.
GMAAE scheme seeks to reward the hard work of Ghanaians within the Music and Arts industry both in Ghana and Europe as the name depicts and to bring Ghanaians across Europe and beyond together under one roof to celebrate Ghanaian Music and arts. The Concept is designed to celebrate our rich Ghanaian culture coupled with rewarding excellence in our music and arts industry.
The scheme is also committed to promoting Ghanaian Music and Arts in Europe coupled with producing world class events and managing great acts across Africa. Young Mission’s proven consistency over the years across Europe is quite re-assuring and has been unbeatable. The brand’s humble beginning and growth to become an admired one in Europe is seen by many as a perfect pedestal.
