MTN Ghana Celebrates With The People Of The Anlo State.

MTN Ghana as a part of its corporate social responsibilities partnered with the people of the Anlo state as they gathered for the annual celebration of the biggest cultural and traditional festival – “Hogbetsotsoza” which brings together thousands.

This year’s celebration, which was under the theme; “Shoring up our cultural Capital: Uniting in Commonwealth and Resolve” saw MTN Ghana join the people celebrate, donated cash and items as well as sponsorship to see to the smooth running of the event.

During this year’s celebration, MTN partnered with the planning committee to organize an ICT workshop for over 300 students of the Anlo state, supported the annual Hogbe football gala, partnered with Jubilee Radio to organize the health walk, also sponsored the EdemFest, presented a cheque of GHC15, 000.00, airtime worth GHC500.00 and drinks Hamper worth GHC1000.00 at the grand Durbar.

The activities that marked the celebration ranged from a Health walk on Friday morning, which congregated close to 2000 participants, a grand Durbar and donation to the traditional council, the Friday festival where there was a performance by the Bethel Revival Choir and the Agbadza dance competition, the EdemFest gathered 10,000 plus patrons and brought Stonebwoy, EL, Edem amid big entertainers to the shores of Keta. This year’s celebrations were crowned with the Beach Soccer Gala on the Sunday.

Among the thousands of people, both indigenous and visitors who joined Togbi Sri III (The Awomefia of the Anlo State) and the people of the Anlo state for this year’s celebration were government officials, statesmen, chiefs, corporate Ghana and well-wishers. The notable faces among those at the gathering were Former President John Dramani Mahama, Togbe Afede XIV and other chiefs from neighbouring towns to mention a few.

The Hogbetsotsoza is a yearly event for the people of the Anlo traditional area as they relive their culture and heritage, remembering the successful migration of their ancestors from Notsie to their present settlement.
